~Eighttime Ironman qualifier hosts prestigious triathlon training program in the USVI~
U.S. Virgin Islands, (December 12, 2013)– Playtri, a premier company specializing in triathlon coaching announced today that it has chosen St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) to host a special triathlon training camp. The prestigious training camp will be held February 26 to March 2, 2014, offering an athletic getaway for enthusiasts interested in destination triathlons. Eight time Ironman World Championship qualifier and finisher, Ahmed Zaher, will lead the four-day destination training camp.
“The choice of St. Croix as the host partner for our Ironman 70.3 training program was an as it’s in a great location with lots of scene beauty and has the versatile landscape that will test the skills of our participants” said Ahmed Zaher, Founder and Coach of Playtri. “We are confident that USVI’s St. Croix’s world-class hospitality and challenging course will make them the ideal host for our training camp.”
Ahmed Zaher is a renowned coach and athlete who has participated in eight Ironman World Championships, placed 6th in the world at the 2010 ITU Olympic AG World Championship and twice qualified for and completed Ironman 70.3 World Championships. Through his coaching experience he has helped over 50 athletes qualify for the Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

During the camp, athletes will train on the same course used for the annual Captain Morgan Ironman 70.3, one of the oldest and most well-known triathlons, having celebrated a 25 year history in 2013.
“We have worked hard over the past 25-years to ensure this race remains a world-class event,” said Tom Guthrie, Race Director of the St. Croix Triathlon. “We are thrilled that Playtri has chosen St. Croix for the training camp and to see the race is attracting sports figures to our Island year-round.
The camp is designed for athletes of all abilities and will have a vacation component for beginners looking for an athletic getaway or those traveling with family. Athletes must be able to do a minimum swim of 500 meters, bike ten miles and run three miles. Athletes must also be USAT members or purchase a one day membership to participate in the camp which will be available for purchase at check-in.
