Travelers Now Have More Time to Book and More Opportunities to Save in the USVI
ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands, October 22, 2008 – Travelers craving an escape to the U.S. Virgin Islands now have more time to plan their vacation with the Department of Tourism’s extended Winter Escape promotion. The booking window, which was originally scheduled to end on October 31, will now extend through December 10, 2008 for travel between December 15, 2008 and March 31, 2009.
The extended Winter Escape promotion offers visitors with even more value during the peak travel season, with a $50 credit on attractions and a $50 credit on meals in addition to the original offer of $300 in travelers checks, a coupon book with savings on activities and attractions and a complimentary fifth night, based on a four-night minimum stay at participating hotels.
“We recognize that travelers are faced with tougher financial challenges and are scaling back their overall spending this winter, but we feel they shouldn’t have to forego the chance to experience the beautiful landscapes, exciting activities and cultural charm of St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John,” noted Tourism Commissioner Beverly Nicholson-Doty. “In efforts to make travel to the USVI more affordable, we are pleased to offer the extension of the Winter Escape offer further into the holiday season.”
Hotels participating in the Winter Escape promotion include: Carambola Beach Resort & Spa, Chenay Bay Beach Resort, Club St. Croix (Antilles Resorts), Colony Cove (Antilles Resorts), Divi Carina Bay Resort, Hibiscus Beach Resort, Holger Danske Hotel, Hotel Caravelle, Sand Castle on the Beach, The Buccaneer and The Palms at Pelican Cove on St. Croix. Also participating are Best Western Carib Beach, Best Western Emerald Beach, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort, Holiday Inn Windward Passage, Pavilions and Pools, Point Pleasant (Antilles Resorts), Sapphire Beach Resort (Antilles Resorts), Sapphire Village (Antilles Resorts), Secret Harbour, The Ritz-Carlton and Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa on St. Thomas, as well as Estate Concordia Campground on St. John.
